There are many reasons to follow the Mediterranean diet.
Featuring fresh produce, seafood, legumes, nuts, garlic, citrus, and olive oil — the Mediterranean diet is fresh, simple, and rich with history and tradition. And most of all, it is undeniably delicious.
Greek cuisine in particular has gained increased recognition for its role in overall health and longevity following studies of areas in Greece identified by scientists as “blue zones.” These areas have the highest populations in the world of individuals who live to be over 100 years old.
Dr. Anastasia Galanopoulos has a deep love for Greek food and cooking. In this class, she shares both her family recipes and expertise in medical research to create an approachable, memorable learning experience for participants.
We will learn to cook several staples of Greek cuisine — with flexibility to include participants’ favorite dishes — as we explore the key elements of the Mediterranean way of living for health and higher quality of life.
This is an excellent team-building exercise or bonding activity for family, friends, and colleagues.
