Join us on February 12th for our discussion, “Elder Law and Special Needs Estate Planning.” Our Co-hosts Stephanie Timmons, Karen Mariscal, and Christina Vidoli will share their expertise on this topic. Stephanie Timmons will explain long-term care insurance and how it works. Karen Mariscal will talk about estate planning for parents whose children are disabled and may need government benefits. Christina Vidoli will talk about estate planning for elders who may need nursing home care.
Stephanie Timmons works at Appel Insurance Advisors where she coordinates the underwriting and marketing for Life, Disability Income, and Long-Term Care insurance policies and assisting families that include a member with special needs.
Karen Mariscal is an expert on special needs estate planning, guardianship, and government benefits. Karen has been practicing law at a high level for more than 30 years, and is the co-author of “Planning for Disabled Beneficiaries,” in the MCLE treatise Drafting Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts. She is a passionate advocate for people who have special needs, and their parents. In addition to estate planning and guardianship, Karen provides families with information, resources, and practical assistance regarding adult day programming, housing, residential options, and supports.
Christina T. Vidoli is an associate at the Winston Law Group. She practices in the following areas: estate planning, long-term care planning, planning for children and adults with special needs, guardianship and conservatorship, probate administration, MassHealth (Medicaid) applications and appeals, and community MassHealth benefits.
They will be sharing their valuable knowledge as well as personal experiences in what is sure to be an extremely informative session.
