HALF DAY TOUR
Begin your tour of Lexington at the Vistors Center. While there, view the Diorama of the Battle of Lexington and pick up brochures and directions to area attractions. From the Visitors Center, it's a short walk to the Minuteman Statue on the Battle Green. Visit the monument on the Green as well as the Old Belfrey on Belfrey Hill and the Old Burying Ground. Go back in time with guided tours of three of Lexington's historic homes -- Munroe Tavern*, Buckman Tavern* and the Hancock-Clarke House*. Save time for shopping in Lexington Center and for a leisurely lunch or dinner in one of Lexington's fine restaurants. Option for 1/2 day Tour Instead of tours of the historic homes, Buckman Tavern , and the Hancock-Clarke* House, visit the National Heritage Museum. Changing exhibits at the Museum focus on the varying aspects of the growth and development of the United States. Be sure to see the film, "Lexington Alarm'd" which depicts what life was like in the small town where the Revolutionary War began. Free admission, open year-round. FULL
DAY TOUR Options
for full day tour B. For the morning, follow the itinerary for the 1/2 day tour. For the afternoon, walk the nature and fitness trail at Fiske Hill, then stop at Minuteman National Historic Park's Battle Road Visitors Center to view the film "To Keep Our Liberty". Plan to stay for the Ranger led "Who Were the People?" and learn about living in colonial America. You will meet a colonial woman, a British soldier, or an American Minute Man. * Historic houses open seasonally; closed off season from mid-November to early April; however group tours can be arranged by appointment.
